Camp Hippodrome

Camp HippodromeCAMP HIPPODROME is a free program that provides middle and high school students the opportunity to receive professional instruction during the summer at the Hippodrome Theatre. During otherwise idle months, HFI engages Baltimore youth with workshops on theater, music, dance, make up and more. We are grateful to The Martha & Homer Gudelsky Family Foundation for making Camp Hippodrome possible for more than 250 Maryland students every year. During summer 2013, HFI hosted eight free musical theater camps (including three 1-week camps), including one geared specifically for children with special needs.

HFI also provided a camp for senior citizens from Baltimore County as well as a two day camp for high school students interested in stage production. HFI thanks the Local #19 I.A.T.S. E for their assistance in introducing and teaching Baltimore students about a potential career option. Camp Hippodrome is about exposing children – teaching them – all aspects of live theater. We have a lot of fun along the way.

2014 CAMP HIPPODROME has a few spots left for session 2 and 3 – call 410-727-7787 ext. 118 for information.
